What is claudine schneider?

Claudine Schneider is an American politician and former U.S. Representative for the state of Rhode Island. She was born in 1947 in Clairton, Pennsylvania. Schneider is a member of the Republican party and served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1981 to 1991. During her tenure, she was known for working on environmental and energy issues. She was the first woman to serve on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and was instrumental in the passage of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. After her time in Congress, Schneider worked as an environmental consultant and became involved in a number of advocacy organizations. She also worked as a professor at Brown University.
